The Barcelona-Francia Control Point s in charge of the regulation of railway traffic on the railway lines:

Since 2008, ENA Tecnología has performed three major projects at the Barcelona-Francia Control Point:

Phase 1

Rehabilitation of telephone desks in the Barcelona-Francia Control Point and the replacement of 8 existing telephone desks with Advanced Terminals for the Operation Telephony System (TASTE).

Phase 2

Expansion of the operation telephone system at the Barcelona-Francia Control Point and the replacement of 9 existing telephone desks with Advanced Terminals for the Operation Telephony System (TASTE).

Phase 3

Supply and installation of a backup Control Point in Sants and integration with the Barcelona-Francia Control Point, fulfilling the functionality requested by ADIF.

The Maintenance Leadership of ADIF Barcelona requested to include a complete centralized rail traffic management solution, consisting of a main CTC and a support CTC located at a different place from the main CTC. The new CTC had to include all the necessary operating communications systems: Ground Train, GSM-R, Operating Telephony, DICOM, etc.

In this installation, the requirements requested by the client were met by implementing new technologies in the Telephony System. In addition, the equipment was adapted complying with the new functionality in the support CTC:

  • Disaster situation, where all traffic control bands are managed from the Alternative Control Point.
  • Intermediate situation, where there are regulators in both Control Points, regulating different traffic control bands.

It is worth noting that during the execution of the installation and system tests, the operation of the Control Point was not affected.
