Chamartín Control Point

Success cases of ENA Tecnología

The aim of the project was to equip the Chamartín Control Point with an Operation Telephony System to regulate railway traffic on the following railway lines:

  • Medina – Corcos
  • El Escorial – Ávila
  • Pasillo verde (Atocha – Pitis)
  • Cercanías Madrid – Segovia
  • Cercanías Móstoles – Fuenlabrada
  • Madrid – Guadalajara
  • Guadalajara – Calatayud
  • Alcázar – Castillejo
  • Pinto – S. Martín
  • Madrid – Cáceres

ENA Tecnología analyzed the problem and decided to supply a telephony system composed of 18 Control Point Stations, model STF-08, with capacity to operate 6 traffic control bands with 4 wires and 24 local lines with 2 wires.

These Control Point Stations have an Advanced Terminal for the Operation Telephony System (TASTE) that offers easy operation and configuration thanks to its graphic interface and touch screen.

The basic communications that are established in this telephony system are:

  • Point-multipoint communications between the Operator Stations and all the stations of the line with selective call to them through 4-wire circuits.
  • Point-multipoint communications between the Operator Stations and the local subscribers of the stations (Signal telephones, level crossing telephones, connectors for portable telephones, point switch telephones in remote controlled lines) through BC/BL type links.
  • Point-to-point communications between Operator Stations and local services through an automatic Central (PABX).

A new touch telephone console with greater functionality was implemented in this installation, complying with Renfe’s Regulations. In addition, the requirements requested by the client in terms of functionality, costs and execution times were met.

It is noteworthy that during the installation and testing of the new system, the operation of the Control Point was not affected.
